PoC vs. PoV
A lot of Companies which searching for solutions out there, first want to perform a PoC or PoV. But there is a huge difference between the both. Let me tell you when to use what.
PoC – Proof of Concept
You will do a PoC if you want to proof the Software itself if it works as provided. That is to get trust in the Software itself if they work as you expected.
PoV – Proof of Value
A Proof of Value you will do to test if the Software will bring the value you want in the scenario you’re looking for. Means, you have specific Use Cases you want to solve and will test, if the Software, you trust that it works, can solve it in YOUR Scenario and Infrastructure.
Usually what Companies looking for is a PoV to understand if the Software they take a look at, can solve their needs. The most important aspect here is, to write down your specific Use Cases you want the Software to test against. Beside that, you have to define when the Use Case is solved successfully and what are the overall success criteria for your PoV or PoC as well.
